01 THE STORY
A search that changes everything.
In the 2006 third draft, Astrid sets out after her father Erik and twin brother Björn vanish on a voyage to England.
Her search moves through Viking settlements, across the sea, and into the stronghold of Wollin. Alongside Byrnjolf, she uncovers a conspiracy that reaches from her own village to distant rulers. At stake are her family, a treaty, and the future of Korpklint.

The unlikely companion
Byrnjolf
A carpenter and quick-witted outsider whose long ears and rhymes make him unforgettable. The early materials cast him as Astrid’s travelling friend and a keeper of village secrets.
The twin brother
Björn Silverlock
Astrid’s twin and Erik’s son. His disappearance drives the search at the heart of the 2006 screenplay.
The father

Jarl of Korpklint, whose journey overseas draws his family into a contest of loyalty, power and truth.
